I had this issue while troubleshooting I changed the registry Key: HKLM\Software\Sybase\PowerDesigner15\License to be comptible with Vista Users path…instead of Documents and Settings…. as listed in the error. This completely hosed PowerDesigner.

However when I manually put the XP Style path back in PowerDesigner no loger has an issue.

Just a fluke? I don’t know…

I use starter pack version, and now i still can’t install any PowerDesigner version. ( On indonesia, Cheaper Version ( Home Basic ) of Vista to expensive…^_^

Try PowerDesigner 12.5. Which version of Vista are you using? Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate? Are you running on service pack 1?

I Have notebook based on vista operating system, but i can’t install any power designer software. Ver 12,11, and 6 All same. And failed located on ” registering module ” session.
Have any solution ? Can somebody give me advise ?

If Windows Vista locks up when you try to install PowerDesigner, you may want to start looking at drivers. Which edition of Vista are you running (Home, Business, etc)? Did you install Vista SP1?

I don’t believe PowerDesigner 11.1 is certified to run on Windows Vista. Is PowerDesigner 12.5 an option?

I need install the powerdesigner, version 11.1, on Windows Vista, but when I tried the windows stopped. Someone have a solution to this problem?

Hi Raby, If setting the LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable doesn't help, try going to Sybase Product Download Center. You should be able to check in your sysam license for your PowerDesigner 12.5 and generate a new key file. The keys are typically tied to the mac address of your network card, a hard drive serial number or similar. hope this helps, Jason

When i try to install power amc version 12.5
i obtains this message:

Failed to obtain 1 license(s) for PD_SHELL

My system is XP.
